The Men’s Fencing Club hosted Rutgers, Lafayette and RPI this past sunday at the Stifel Fencing Salle. Cornell defeated all three to improve its season record to 8-0. The foil and sabre squads remained undefeated as well, with foil looking to threepeat as MACFA champions this year. The Big Red will return to action on February 12th at Drew University against MACFA’s B region which includes SIT, NJIT, USMA, Hunter College, and Yeshiva University.

The Cornell Men’s Fencing Club traveled to Swarthmore College in Philadelphia to compete against 41 other schools from around the country. Over the course of the first day, our three squads all fared well, all placing in the top 16 going into direct eliminations. Individually, Sophomore Mike Fotinatos in foil, Freshmen Benjamin Jaeger and Zach Silversmith in sabre, and Sophomore Bryan Mills in epee all qualified for the first round of individuals. Mike, Benjamin and Zach all advanced to the final round with strong performances in their respective pools.
