Fotinatos has been fencing for over 5 years, competing in the NJ division and North American Cup tournaments. Rated in all three weapons, he currently is a B in foil, D in epee, and E in sabre. He fenced on the Northern Highlands Regional High School varsity team for four years, serving as captain as a junior and senior. Winning two Squad District Championships in 2007 and 2008, and a District Individual Championship in 2008, Fotinatos was named 1st Team All-County, 1st Team All-League, and 2nd Team All-State. He posted a .745 record in his freshman season, the second best on the team. When watching a teammate fence, he can be counted on for game-changing advice. Michael Alexander Fotinatos is the son of Perry and Diana Fotinatos. He is currently enrolled the College of Human Ecology.
