Bio

A transfer student from Boston College in Spring 2009, MJ quickly became an active member of the team. Since joining, he achieved a .600 MACFA win percentage, the highest of any saberist in 2008-2009.  He has recently joined the South Korean Army, and will be returning to Cornell in 2012.

Prior to Cornell:  MJ started fencing his freshman year at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. Although he had no prior experience with the sport, he quickly got absorbed in fencing and became a starting member of the Saber squad his freshman year. MJ led the Lawrenceville fencing team his senior year and received The Sieja Fencing Trophy. After Lawrenceville, he fenced as the second alternate for one semester at Boston College while he had a guaranteed transfer to Cornell.

Personal: MJ lived both in Korea and New Jersey.  He is a student in the school of Hotel Administration.
